FAIRY DELL PATH
The Fairy Dell path joins up with the Arran Coastal way to create a popular cirular route. However the path itself was very overgrown and in need of repair. The Arran Trust is delighted to offer support to Lochranza and Catacol Village Committee who have worked long and hard on the Fairy Dell. The plan was to upgrade existing path by incorporating side ditches, culverts and all weather surface. Renovation of outdoor seats in specific areas to improve amenity for visitors and locals was also proposed. Interpretation signage at car park adjacent to Fairy Dell start, at head of loch would be simplistic and specific to the area – pointing out areas of interest.
An impoved experience for the many tourists and residents within the area. Encourage more people to explore the natural environment of North End and Fairy Dell. Low level walking is most popular activity on Arran and this improved route and amenities would meet the needs of the inter generational low level walker.
