Share Arran Roads Safely
ACTIVITY
The Arran Trust was pleased to support this campaign to reduce cycle and other accidents on Arran by encouraging local and visiting drivers and cyclists to respect other road users and share the roads safely. The project was initiated by Scottish Ambulance Service staff on Arran who believed that providing safety information to everyone that uses Arran's unique roads was key to safety, while realising the benefits of showing mutual respect to all road users.
OUTCOME
Neil Gillies from the Scottish Ambulance Services says "Arran Trust has enabled us to produce road safety leaflets which we have distributed to accommodation providers, cycle hire facilities and made available on the ferry. We believe the campaign has improved the relationships between road-users on Arran which has resulted in fewer accidents"
